Subject: The runway drainage project Night Closure plan starting next week and update on Asphalt install for new hangars
The asphalt for the new hangars will be installed next week.
Not sure what day yet, but there will be some 2–3-hour closures on taxiway B & G. the spots that have cold patch on them now will get the asphalt installed so closures will happen while that part of the project is completed.
I will update you as soon as I know the exact time next week that the closures for the taxiways will accrue.
Construction on the runway drainage project is going to begin this year, with runway closures planned as follows:
- Week of 10/3/2023. Nightly closures 9 pm – 7 am beginning Tuesday 10/3 at 9 pm and ending Friday 10/6 at 7 am.
- Week of 10/9/2023. Nightly closures 9 pm – 7 am beginning Monday 10/9 at 9 pm and ending Friday 10/13 at 7 am.
- Between 10/12 and 10/20. Approximately 4 hours total of daytime closure outside of commercial arrival/departure windows. A schedule will be provided once available.
Please note that fixed-wing medevac flights will be accommodated on a Prior Permission Required basis. Helicopter medevac flights will not be impacted by this project.
NOTAMs will be issued for the specific closure periods. Pilots are reminded that NOTAMs serve as the official source of information for airport operations area closures and shall be checked in accordance with FAA requirements prior to every flight.
This project and the associated runway closures will resume in the spring of 2024 when weather conditions allow. It is anticipated that there will be approximately 5 weeks of construction next season.
